Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about hiring with House of TADE

Planning an event should feel exciting, not complicated. Here are answers to the questions we’re asked most, from choosing your pieces to delivery and collection. Can’t find what you need? Contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

How do I hire from House of TADE?

Browse our collection, pick your event date and quantity on each product page, and select Add to Quote. When you’re ready, go to Request a Quote and send us your venue and event details. We’ll check availability and send you a personalised quotation.

What types of events do you cater for?

Weddings, christenings, birthdays, private dinners, parties, corporate events and other special occasions.

Can you help me choose what I need?

Yes. Tell us what you know so far, such as your date, venue, approximate guest numbers and the look you’d like, and we’ll suggest suitable pieces from our collection. You don’t need a complete list before you ask for a quote.

Does sending a quote request reserve my items?

No. Adding items to your quote or sending a quote request doesn’t reserve anything. Your items are reserved once we’ve confirmed your booking in writing and you’ve paid the deposit shown in your quotation.

How will I receive my quotation?

We’ll review your request and send your quotation using the contact details you give us. If we need more information about your event, we’ll get in touch first.

How long is my quotation valid?

For the period stated on it, or 14 days if no period is stated. The prices are held for that time, but items aren’t reserved until your booking is confirmed.

Is there a minimum order?

It depends on the products you choose, your delivery location and the logistics involved. If a minimum applies, we’ll tell you before your booking is confirmed.

How far in advance should I ask for a quote?

As early as you can, especially for summer Saturdays, larger events and big quantities. Availability changes as bookings are confirmed, so an early enquiry gives you the widest choice.

How do I check whether an item is available?

Pick your event date on the product page, add the item to your quote and send us your request. We’ll confirm availability in your quotation.

Can I choose different quantities?

Yes. Choose the quantity you need when you add each item to your quote; all quantities are subject to availability on your date. For large events or specialist requirements, add the details to your request.

Are the product dimensions accurate?

We list dimensions to help you plan your layout. If exact measurements matter for access, installation or your floor plan, please confirm them with us before you book.

Will the products look exactly like the photographs?

We work hard to show our collection accurately, but colours and finishes can look slightly different because of lighting, photography and screen settings. Every piece is cleaned and checked before it goes out, and because items are hired for many events, some may show minor signs of normal use.

Do you deliver and collect?

Yes. Delivery and collection are charged separately from the hire price and quoted individually, based on your venue’s location, the size of your order, access and timings. You’ll see the charges in your quotation before you book. Our Delivery & Collection page has the full details.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver from our base in Snetterton, Norfolk, to venues across the UK, depending on your order, availability and logistics. Include your venue’s postcode in your quote request and we’ll confirm your options.

Can I collect the items myself?

For some orders, yes, by prior arrangement. It depends on the type, size and quantity of the items, so let us know in your quote request if you’d like to collect. You’ll need a suitable vehicle, and late returns are charged as set out in our Cancellation Policy.

Do you set up and install?

For selected products and events, yes. We’ll discuss it when quoting and include it in your quotation. Delivery on its own doesn’t include arranging furniture, dressing tables, installing décor or styling the room unless this has been agreed.

What if my venue has restricted access?

Tell us as early as possible, ideally in your quote request. Details such as stairs, lifts, loading areas, parking restrictions, narrow entrances, security procedures and supplier time slots help us plan your delivery and quote accurately.

When is my booking confirmed?

When we’ve confirmed it in writing, including by email, and you’ve completed the requirements in your quotation, such as paying the deposit. A quote request on its own is not a booking.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. A non-refundable deposit of 25% of your total order value secures your booking, and the balance is due 14 days before your event. If the balance isn’t paid by then, we may cancel the booking.

For higher-value or fragile items, we may also ask for a refundable security deposit of 20% of your order value. It’s returned within 7 days of your event, provided everything comes back undamaged. Your quotation confirms the amounts and dates.

Can I pay through the website?

No payment is taken through the website. Once we’ve confirmed availability, your quotation or booking confirmation will explain how to pay.

Can I change my order after receiving a quote?

Yes. Contact us as soon as possible. Changes to products, quantities, dates, venue or services are subject to availability and may mean a revised quotation. Reducing quantities after your booking is confirmed may be subject to our cancellation charges.

What if my event date changes?

Let us know as soon as you can. We’ll do our best to move your booking to the new date, but this depends on availability, especially in peak season, and may affect the cost.

What if I need to cancel?

Email us at contact@houseoftade.co.uk as soon as possible, as cancellations must be made in writing. Charges depend on how much notice you give, from losing your deposit if you cancel more than 30 days before your event, up to the full order value if you cancel less than 7 days before. See our Cancellation Policy for the full scale.

Who is responsible for the items during the hire?

You are, from the moment the items are delivered to you, or collected by you, until we collect them or you return them. Please take reasonable care of them. Our Hire Terms & Conditions explain your responsibilities in full.

What if something is lost or damaged?

Let us know as soon as possible. Normal wear from event use is expected, but items that are lost, or damaged beyond normal wear, are charged at repair or replacement cost. Where we hold a security deposit, we deduct the charge from it and invoice any shortfall.

Do I need to clean the items before collection?

No. Normal cleaning after ordinary event use is included as set out in your quotation, so please don’t wash, bleach or treat linen or other items yourself unless we ask you to. Before collection, gather everything in the agreed area and pack tableware and glassware back into their crates or containers where possible.

Extra cleaning charges may apply if items come back with heavy staining, wax, paint, adhesive, burns or permanent marks.

Can hired items be used outdoors?

Some can, but many pieces are made for indoor use and must not be used outdoors without our agreement. Tell us about any outdoor plans when you request a quote and we’ll advise. If we agree to outdoor use, you’re responsible for protecting the items from rain, wind and mud, so please have a backup plan such as a marquee or indoor space.
